David Desplaces, Ph.D., CGBP
Lt. Col. David Desplaces is a Professor of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at the Baker School of Business at The Citadel. He specializes in small business management and export assistance to SMEs. He is also a global commerce expert in the Middles East, multilingual in French and English and he has served on many company boards in France, Panama, and the United Arab Emirates.
He served as a trade specialist on the South Carolina Trade Mission to the UAE in 2010 and provides cultural and business etiquette briefings for various groups traveling to the Middle East. He also serves as the co-chair of the South Carolina International Trade Coalition and supports the StudySC effort to promote educational outreach.
His professional certifications include: ISO 9001: 2008 Lead Auditor; ISO 14001: 2008 Lead Auditor; NxLevel Trainer Certification, Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP), and NASBITE Certified CGBP Trainer.
